Martin Hollis confirms that his company, Zoonami, is developing for Wii. He also has very positive words for the console, the future of the console, and downloadable content. Hollins believes that Wii will eventually become the number one console within a year, and his tone makes us assume Zoonami will make Wii Ware games.
Ex-Rare employee, Martin Hollis, who served as both Director and Producer on the GoldenEye 007 and Perfect Dark development teams, spoke recently with CVG, confirming that his new company, Zoonami, is "happily dedicated to Wii."
Since establishing Zoonami seven years ago, Hollis' studio has released Zendoku for the Nintendo DS and PSP, and Go!Puzzle for the PlayStation Store. Hollis explained that downloadable games will continue to play a big part in the company's future, alongside its creation of games for that console.
When asked what games are currently in development at Zoonami, "I will reveal as much as I can," Hollis explained. "We are happily dedicated to Wii, which is a very exciting console indeed, and are working on multiple projects," he added.
"Incidentally I believe Wii will capture first place in this generation of the console race within a year, by all important measures. I also believe that Wii will change the world.
"Downloadable games have changed the business landscape of the game industry for the better. The idea that a new console game has to cost upwards of $30 or pounds has been funneling the industry for too long." Hollins concluded, "Downloadable games are likely to play a very large part in our future."
