Ouch, eight years of development and Sega shut it down now. I also figure it's unlikely Sega would try to scoop up the game for a price to release it themselves.

it shouldnt have taken more than 8 years to remake a Genesis game.

Yeah, not like they had jobs or college/university and families and friend and other hobbies or anything, they should have focussed on this more than they wanted to or could; that's completely sensible.

Hell I would just swap the character models and take out all references off Streets of Rage. Maybe call it Furious Roads or something. Thats what they did in the '80s lol

Sega just lost whatever respect I had left for them. The only thing they seem to do right is publish decent titles, and that's not saying much.

Eight years, completely free, the fan-developed game shows how much people love the SoR series. And how does Sega thank these devoted members? By taking the remake down only two days later. If they were smart, they'd buy the game, HD it up, and release it on XBL/PSN. The funny thing is that, eight years ago, one of the makers of SoRR actually contacted a Sega rep regarding the remake. They weren't charging for it so Sega didn't mind. But Sega makes no profit here either, I suppose that's why they pulled the plug.

    Highly upsetting and disappointing, Sega.

Game is fun, by the way.
