Blacksite: Area 51 Delayed to Q4

tidus04 | August 04, 2007 | News | PC Playstation 3
Midway have announced that the upcoming title to be on the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Pc which was scheduled for September is now going to be released on October 26th in Europe and November 5th in the United States.

Midway never gave a reason to this, though it speculates to say they may have been worried to put this title up against Halo 3 in Septemeber, or that the game is just not finished.
In a conference call Thursday, Midway announced that its delaying upcoming FPS Blacksite: Area 51 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. Originally scheduled for release in September, the game will now release on October 26th in Europe, and November 5th in the US.

No reason was given for the delay, but Midway representatives had previously stated that the company was unafraid of putting its premiere FPS up against Halo 3 in September on Xbox 360. Perhaps Midway finally came to its senses, or it could simply be a case of the game not being quite ready to ship yet.

As I said 500 times before. This doesn't surprise me, this isn't the first time or the last time a game is getting delayed.

I am tired of it though.

I heard it isn't being delayed in Australia though which is odd because we are usually the last country on developers lists

Its not be stopped over there, that is a bit of a shock. I dont get why they would do it to some places and then not do it to the Aussie espically for the reasons, if it is not finished they cant do this I would have though

Unfortunately delaying games happens too much in the video game industry, but as always there is a valid reason for doing so. It would make sense for the developers to push back their title because of Halo 3, understandable they want the best potential of sales, however not delaying it in Australia and letting Europe get the game before America? That's weird...
