Now whether or not you believe Metal Gear Solid 4 is a PS3 exclusive or not is up to you, but HMV have got the game listed and ready to pre-order. How long this stays there for we do not know, but do HMV have inside information about MGS4 coming to the Xbox 360 5 months after the PS3 release or is this a silly error adding to the list of annoying articles for PS3 gamers?

HMV is now taking pre-orders for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Metal Gear Solid. But the 360 version isn't due until five months later...

Here we go again. The latest 'MGS4-going-multi-platform' rumour is interesting for two reasons. Mega entertainment retailer HMV is taking pre-orders for the 360 version right now and the firm even dates both version of the game.

Metal Gear Solid 4 will apparently be available from April 18, 2008 on PlayStation 3 only according to the listing. Then, just over five months later, the Xbox 360 will be blessed with Solid Snake's presence on September 26 (one year exactly after the launch of Halo 3, trivia fans).

Probably a mistake, but I hope it isn't.

HMV's going to face quite a backlash if this turns out to be a huge mistake on their part. A lot of 360 owners would just love for this to be true.

I know, that's what this article is about sorry if I didn't make it clear enough. HMV is listing in for pre-order on their website, as shown by the link you've used.

HMV will probably remove it soon when words spreads around the internet, we'll see however I would love for the information provided to be true.

Its clearly BS. If Microsoft, Sony, Konami and Kojima say its exclusive, but HMV doesn't, whos more reliable?

Kojima nor Microsoft have stated that MGS4 is exclusive to the PS3.

Why would Microsoft make that statement?

Actually they have stated it was exclusive.

"Exclusive for the time being" I believe was what he said, but he never ruled out the possibility for a time-exclusive. I doubt it, but could happen none-the less.

He never stated a timed exclusive, Kojima stated it was an exclusive. EV4ryone else wants ti to and him being the director and developer(i think) he holds the cards at the end of the day Its his game and only he wants it to be on the ps3. Nothing else will change. Especially the 50GB space how can xbox handle it.

Where'd Kojima say that MGS4 is PS3 exclusive and there won't be an X360 version?

Kojima said it was exclusive for the PS3 during E3. He didnt say for the time being or any bs, he siad "Exclusive for the PS3" PERIOD. I mean in the demo vid Snake's holding a sixaxis controller to control the little metal gear robot.

I added the image of the listing, in case they remove it. All this does is remind me of Sears who said that the XBOX was created by Sega rather than Microsoft:
    http://www.gamegrep.com/other/3546-not_a_microsoft_xbox_360_but_a_sega_xbox_360/

Just seems to be an f-up on HMV's side if anything. I've heard before about companies jumping the gun and putting unannounced games on their site, though most times they are correct, but there are those few times when it's incorrect.

SCE execs has confirmed countless times that MGS4 is going to be exclusive and Hideo says there's no plans for a 360 version. Needless to say that this is some bad mistake...possibly driven because of the relentless rumor mills.

I'm guessing it's to add to the rumours, but who knows? To have the game already for pre-order is a bit too soon, though, especially if it won't come on the 360 for another couple of months after PS3's launch...that's if it comes on the 360.

I doubt it'll come to the 360. Kojima already said it'll stick to the PS3. They even teased on having Snake control a Metal Gear with a PS3 controller.

I hope it wont, i want the PS3 to have it exclusively, Xbox doesnt deserve it.

It's just there "incase" and to make people not buy a PS3... Making them think it's coming to the 360.

Hideo just said at the recent conference that it is EXCLUSIVE to the PS3... so.

So you think that HMV is full of Xbox 360 fanboys that wish for no one to buy their PS3 products, so they add MGS4 on Xbox 360 to their listings in a bid to not make sells on the Playstation 3 merchandies they sell?

      I don't understand...

Anyone notice HMV clearly states it is only going to have 1 disc? I kind of doubt that...

I really don't see what the big deal is here. Websites *bleep* up like this all the time.

Though this has been stated as a mistake that would have been all I would have said it was. No chance this being on the 360 within 5 months after the Ps3 release.
