BBC planning to re-enter computer game market?

mistermostyn | August 06, 2007 | News | PC
My, how the world has grown since the heady days of the BBC Micro (sorry US readers) and its hefty keyboard, distinctly educational roots, and truly naff games... apart from Scramble. Ahh, the memories. So, is there any truth behind rumours suggesting the mighty Beeb is about to re-enter the computer game market?
Many British children that attended primary school during the 1980s and 1990s will remember an educational computer software title named Granny's Garden, an adventure game created by 4mation for the (now archaic) BBC Micro that served as an introduction to computers - it also happened to be absolutely terrifying.

Those millions of youngsters would be forgiven, then, for suffering unexpected and unpleasant flashbacks today at the announcement that the BBC is said to be planning another foray into the world of videogames.

Man, I remember some of the education games that we used to have on the Computers back in Primary School. They must have been a great learning tool, seeing as they have stuck in my mind for so long. It can only be good news for our future generations that the BBC are planning to make more.

I'd be worried right now if I had a son/daughter in primary school and knew he/she would be having to play BBC computer games that include scary witches with threatening speach.
