Best Console Launched Of All Time

xsynergyx | August 06, 2007 | News | Dreamcast Nintendo 64 Misc
Game Daily has come up with a list, dedicated to the best console launches, ever. Beware Microsoft and Sony fans, most of these best console launches are from Nintendo! Consoles range from the classic Game Boy and Super Nintendo. Does it surprise you that the Xbox 360 is in that list?
Some gamers obsess over launch statistics, arguing about which console outsold the other. That's fine, but we'd much rather play the launch games and have fun instead of fighting over things publishers worry about. With that said, here are the best console launches and the publishers who delivered the games we wanted to play.

Is it me or does GameDaily sources never work? I click the link but the page never loads.

Nevertheless I am lead into believing the Xbox 360 is classed as one of the "best console launched off all time" right? If so then I'm glad to hear it.

To tell you the truth I don't see the 360 launch as anything spectacular, solid but not spectacular

Super Nintendo is still one of the best in my opinion. Super Nintendo games seemed to have some good storylines and many of the games actually took a long time to beat.

I like the 360 but it should not be there, its launch was like the PS3, flawed and lackluster at best... Had no games worth buying for well over 6 months, i mean it was pretty crappy if you think about it.

I remember when the GameBoy Advance just came out and it was the best thing ever. Now it is crap. And Super Nintendo has some good games like Mario Kart.

I like how half of those consoles are made by Nintendo ... CONCIDENCE !?!?!?

Anyways, it's good to know that the original Game Boy is up there. It's the breakthrough handheld and without that, we probably wouldn't have other handhelds like the Advance and the DS.

It plays games. That's enough ...

I'd have to disagree with the 360 as well. The launch was quite dull, honestly. I can't say it got any worthwhile games until Oblivion, then the stream of great titles began to flow in a few months afterwards. However, at launch, I'd go as far as saying it was the most lacklustre this generation (which is understandable, considering how early it came). Not the most lacklustre anymore, but only at launch.

I'm surprised how many are Nintendo consoles . They've always had only a few games at launch. Quality over quantity, I suppose. The Gamecube launch sucked, though, and the Wii was saved by Zelda, but that's it.

The Super Nintendo was pretty sweet way back in the day. Xbox 360, I wouldn't really agree with the Xbox 360 one. It was okay, but it doesn't deserve a spot for 'best console launch'.

As a rule, all Nintendo launches are big.

I agree, don't know what 360's up there, to be honest. Nintendo should pretty much dominate this 'best' list, imo.

Wow, no PS2? Shocking. Even more shocking, both Gameboy and Gameboy Advance beat out PS2, which is probably one of my favorite consoles of all time. Right next to the N64.

Those peopple are nubs like you said. PS2 was the best along with N64 and SNES. Truly great and 360 doesn't even deserve to be there.

It makes me LOL that most of the people on neoseeker aren't even old enough to remember the launch of the Super NES, much less judge how it compared to others.

When the Game Boy Advance came out, and I received it for Christmas with Super Mario Advance, I thought it was the inspration of video games everywhere. I thought it had the best graphics and the best of nearly everything. Then they made a 3d handheld with a backlight AND a touchscreen additionally, plus GBA compatible.

Amazing how a generation can evolve so well.

How well will the graphics be for DS2? Time will tell.
