Unreal Tournament III To Have Cross Platform Play

Epic Games, Mark Rein has released information saying that the Playstation 3 version and the PC version of Unreal Tournament III will have Cross Platforming Play with one another. In addition to this, he also believes that the Playstation 3 will be the only console cross platforming with this title on the PC, so this means that the Xbox 360 might not be cross platforming with the PC version.

According to Mark Rein from Epic Games, the PC and PS3 versions of Unreal Tournament 3 will be cross platform enabled.

In addition to this cross platform question, PSU asked Rein if the PS3 would be the only console to support cross platform play for the UTIII title, the answer was that they "seem to believe so."

Now UT III has cross platform play, including mouse and keyboard support thanks to the beautifully crafted FragFx. PSU can't wait to see the mayhem of PS3 players and PC players duking it out this coming November.

    Owned... All this money on Xbox Live on the PC and devs don't even want to implement it in their big games.

      How is not including cross-platforming gaming not "implementing" live?

      And this just gives PC gamers cannon fodder, tbh. I wouldn't mind having it on the X360, though.

    It doesn't matter which console one plays on. No one is going to be able to compete against the PC players with the KB/mouse combo.

    Yup. Pretty cool feature which could level the playing field a bit (your average PC gamer is superior to your average console gamer any day of the week).

    I wonder why it hasn't been confirmed for the X360? Maybe Microsoft isn't allowing the keyboard/mouse combo? That's a huge advantage for the PS3 version but too bad all of my friends have Xbox Live.

    Great news for sony with something special here. A good sigh of thing to come, espically with other games that could be doing the same .. Cant wait to see this working.
