A new game by the name of Prototype has appeared on the net, coming to PS3 and 360 from the folks at Radical. The game boosts to have crazy powers and a massive free roaming environment which surpass the 360 game Crackdown. With ability to slash enemies in half, climb walls and cover yourself in a shield their will be no shortage of fun to be had terrorizing the town in this massive sandbox environment

The latest entry in the free-roaming blast-em-genre has been revealed in the pages of UK Official Xbox Magazine.

Dubbed Prototype, and from Scarface dev Radical, it'll put you in the demented shoes of Alex Mercer, a genetically engineered hoody who can, among other things, slash baddies in half and climb up the side of skyscrapers.

Put him in the middle of a bustling New York (we're already debating in the office whether it's prettier than GTA IV's Liberty City) where a human-mutating virus has caused a battle between mutants and the military, and you've got something that's a bit like Crackdown meets The Darkness.

Won't take much to beat Crackdown, it wasn't that good a game, imo. Was pretty short and minimum replay value.

Crackdown was all about jumping around like freakin' spiderman, then about having a great plot or anything...It was fun, with what it had, but it is really only worth a rent (indeed, I got all skills maxed out well before I had to return it)...

I think I saw a video of this or something? The guy looked/acted a bit nutty (hence, the demented bit)...didn't look as fun at a glance, I think, but perhaps this could be a darker, more demented version of crackdown? Its its both fun, and demented, then I might pick it up at some point...At least rent it anyhow...
