Japan explains Why Xbox 360s Heat Up and Crap Out

Final Blade | August 08, 2007 | News | XBOX 360 Company
Well it seems the Japanese wanted to know the source of the problem for 360, and since they couldn't get a true explanation, Japanese news source Nikkei went on the investigation and this is what they found.

One thing it says that if the Room temperature was 35 degrees C, the heat sink could hit a whooping 100 degrees C. Which in Fahrenheit is 212 degrees, wow that's hot!
Nikkei Electronics focused on the heat radiation system for two reasons. One is that the Xbox 360 is known as a game console that often goes thermorunaway.

The other is that some have reported they heard a snapping noise when the Xbox 360 broke down and became inoperative. This makes sense if a component broke due to heat load caused by insufficient heat radiation.

That's waaay too hot for a video game console. Wouldn't the excess heat damnage the game too?

There are other reasons too. Like flawed design. Besides its news due to the fact why japan doesn't like it.

production for the 360 with a newer and extra heat sink has begun, yet people still obsess other this? this is no longer a problem and never has been for me, since my wii gets hotter than both my ps3 and my 2 360s.

Does it really? I find that quite amusing. I own a Wii and a Xbox 360 and I'll admit my Xbox is much noiser by far. I haven't played my Wii in ages but I do remember it being very quiet in comparison to my Xbox.

Either way really, the new colling vent that they have rumoured if added would be a great addition as this should cut it down even more, but that is way to hot for a console =/
