Due to the success of Homefront (arguably), THQ is now claiming that they consider themselves one of the top publishers, rivaling Activision and Electronic Arts...

Not quite... Just because you've released a semi-popular shooter does not put you in league with the giants. I mean EA alone these days pumps out more high quality titles month in month out than THQ releases in years.

ya, I have to agree with Daweii, THQ simply does not release enough games per year. THQ is still behind EA, Activision, Square-Enix, Ubisoft, and even Rockstar (due to their quality of titles they release.

Yeah, I don't really keep track of what THQ develops/publishes, but I don't they have nearly as many games coming out as EA and Activision.

Not that I'm encouraging them to push out more. Nothing wrong with quality over quantity.

THQ do neither though.. They release a few games a year and most are received with average feedback. Homefront wasn't the game people were expecting, the WWE Smackdown vs Raw franchise has been in steady decline with Saints Row and UFC the only brands people really care about and Saints Row is a series that comes out with a new game once every 2-3 years. THQ are pretty small in the grand scheme of things.

THQ has a fair amount of series that are well received like Red Faction, Saints Row, UFC, Darksiders, and Warhammer. Still, they are really not that important. They have some quality titles, Activision and EA has their fair share of shit too.

Homefront also sold a lot of copies. I enjoyed Homefront, regardless of how much the "critics" hated it, it had some faults, but there were definitely some big positives for the game. Multiplayer is truly an addictive experience.

Multiplayer was actually pretty good, I got bored of it after two weeks though. Sadly the campaign was meh.

If THQ really want to rival Activision all they need to do is release a game and see if it sells well, if it sells well make minor changes to it and add a new 5hour long single player and keep the multiplayer the same, re-release it as the sequel.

    Rinse and repeat.
