Wii Hits 10 Million, The Xbox 360 In Sight

The Wii has, in a very short time, hit 10 million units. They are so close at passing the Xbox 360, they can touch it. The PS3 however, with only 4 million, can't even see either consoles in the horizon. In the handheld war, The DS is kicking dirt in the PSP face, going more than double of what the PSP is selling. 46 million to 22 million.

    Congrats to the Wii It will catch the 360 in no time. The DS is killing in sales as well. With big titles coming out for it later, I don't see the sale going down any time soon.

    The Wii will be passing the 360 in sales no doubt. Lots of people have said it. In the Wii's first year it has done well with the unit sales.

      Actually they are not, they are actually doing better than the PS2 did in its first year and its sales total only looks low in comparison to a console that is a year older and another that some may call of a fad.

    Yay! Nintendo's pwning the sales charts. Their console sales, as well as game sales. Whenever I get a new issue of Game Informer or EGM, Nintendo usually always has at least 50% of the sales chart dominated with Wii and DS games. And yes, Sony is doing badly though. With as much hype they put on the PS3, it must be disappointing for them to have the PS2 sell nearly as much as the PS3... still, with the PS2 being out for so many years.

    That was sure quick on Nintendo's side. They've hit almost as much as Microsoft has hit with their Xbox 360 in how long? 10 years? Good job Nintendo.

    How is this proof that the Wii is more than a party attraction?

    Seriously though the PS3 isn't doing too badly considering its price and I think its more like 4.5 million now.

    The Wii has been selling well, no doubt there, and it shall continue to sell well for a good few years. The Wii should sell the most consoles in the next gen war, why? Well the fact that the Wii appeals to non gamers as it is a party attraction is the biggest factor, yet it produces the likes of Zelda and Mario which keeps keen gamers happy.

      It really is amazing what difference a year can make. So I wonder if you'll all be going spastic for Nintendo in a years time? I think the tables will have turned by then, with a heavy emphasis on Sony's PlayStation department. I'm not just saying it, either.

      I don't see the Wii evolving much, other than new things to do with your hands and feet. The experience is almost two-dimentional, but when compared to the liked of the 360, and even more so the PS3, the expereince cannot really compare.

      Time will tell.

    Tbh, I kinda pissed at Ninty. I haven't boguht a Wii yet, 'cos they've postponed so many of the games I wanted, or disappointed me, which to be fair, is worse. I agree that things will change in a year, but not in the PS3s favour. Ninty will fall back behind the 360, but DS will be in front until the Microsoft handheld brings out Halo. And PS3 will roll down a steady decline.

    Seriously though, two-dimensional has got to be the worst way of describing anything any of the consoles bring. I know they didn't mean to, but props to MS for staying the classic control way. Maybe I'm just old fashioned...

    The DS's games probably appeal to more people than the PSP's...

    The Wii being half the price of the 360 is what's making the sales really.

    Goota say congratulations to the Nintendo Wii here as for me and others it has shocked just how much of a good console it is. So well done to them =D
