Hideo Kojima has addressed a few very curious questions with solid answers regarding Metal Gear Solid 5 and Microsoft's E3 2011 press conference and whether or not he'll make an appearance.

not going to lie, this did not help much, besides. MGS5 (or his next Metal Gear game) is probably only a year to year and a half old. Konami wants the focus to be on Rising instead of Kojima's next project. He could still show up at Sony's or Nintendo's Press Conference though, in which I kind of expect him to go to one. Sony's is 5 hours, they could have every developer on stage for a couple minutes and still get it done.

I can't wait for MGS5. Rising looks fun, but it's no MGS game, just a cool spinoff.

I doubt there will be an MGS5. Kojima didn't want to make an MGS4.....

He didn't want to make MGS3 either...

        Or MGS2...

        Or MGS...

        You get the idea.

I thought he really wanted to keep it in a trilogy. They actually had to sort of force him to make MGS4.

Every game he's always said this is the last one and everytime he goes through with it, he receives less than positive comments and hate mail from die hard fans so he makes another. He's been doing this like Province said since MGS1. If he didn't receive hate everytime he wanted to stop we wouldn't even have MGS2 right now.

I thought Peace Walker was 5 but Konami retitled to keep the PS3 fans from crying(what with the whole reaction to Rising being on 360).

Anyway, I hope he makes something for NGP, maybe multiplat it with PS3 as well.

I thought Peace Walker was officially titled MGS5 as well, and even when retitled, still under the impression of.

It would be awesome if a Metal Gear game was multiplat for PS3 and NGP. It'd be really interested to see how the two fare. Also being able to transfer saves across would be neat. Alas, one can only wish.
