Never one to shy away from upsetting the masses (and thereby its audience) with its insensitive advertising drives, Sony has once again managed to infuriate an advertising watchdog following yet another offensive promotion, this time involving the PlayStation 3, an armed thug, and the old "This is Living" slogan. Tut, tut.

You just know it isn't going to be your day when you wake up to find that an advertising watchdog has slammed your latest campaign on grounds that it borders on glamorising violence. That's just what's happened to Sony today, reports Channel 4 News.

The complaint follows the placing of a PlayStation 3 promotion within the internal accounts of Yahoo! and BT Internet users, one which featured a character named Kovac who appears brandishing a knife alongside the slogans "mercenary or misunderstood?" and the PS3's tagline, "This is living."

And what's the big deal exactly? It's just an ad. The people who don't like it shouldn't watch it then. What can you do?
