According to vgchartz, Playstation 3 sales in Japan dropped 40% after the spike in sales due to Everybody’s Golf 5. Nonetheless, the PS3 is selling 6 times better than the Xbox 360, but still only about a third as much as the unstoppable Nintendo Wii.

According to the latest sales chart, after the sales spurt caused by the release of Everybody’s Golf 5, PS3 sales have fallen 40% this week, back to a more regular level in Japan.

That been said, PS3 is still selling 6 times better than the Xbox360, but less than a third as much as Wii. Software sales are also not looking very good with only one PS3 game in the top 50. this week.

Jesus christ stop flooding GameGrep with every single worthless article you find while browsing in the internet. Is that all you do, surf the web looking for what you can post up next on gamegrep?

This is probably the third article you've posted just on the current sales status of the PS3 and they all differ from one another. What the *bleep*?

I think xsynergyx is a little obsessive about gamegrep but oh well its his choice

Anyway of course the sales will drop after a spike, even if the sales have gone down by 40% there probabley higher than before Everybody's Golf 5

Well it was bound to happen, but no need to worry. And please stop with the "but still only about a third as much as the unstoppable Nintendo Wii" Yes we know of the current success for the wii, that doesn't mean we have to hear it million times per-day. Besides I say give a couple of months for the good games for ps3 it may climb back from the 40% fall.

I stated the only reason sales jumped so high was due to the price drop. And now, I'll state the reason why they've dropped is because everyone who was waiting for a price drop has purchased one.

The price drop did it's job.

This is a limited sales drop, just like your xbox has a limited sales increase on amazon.

I agree, the price drops came to early and now there are only a few people left to buy it.

Of course sales are going to go down eventually, they can't keep going up forever.

Im still yet to understand why I care about the Japanese sales as Wii kickes ass, Playstation 3 is playing catch up and we all know about the 360.
