Possibly one of the biggest gaming releases of the year gets its first formal rollout this week as Activision and Infinity Ward's eagerly anticipated Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare prepares to open up its multiplayer beta.

The CoD4 beta will hit North America sometime this week and will be exclusive to the Microsoft Xbox 360. The Modern Warfare tester features three modes: Free-for-All, Team Deathmatch, and Team Tactical; and three maps: Overgrown (set in rural Russia, perfect for good cover), Vacant (a deserted Russian office building with intense corridor action) and Crash (a downed Sea Knight chopper in a desert down, perfect for team games).

The game is looking good...I just hope that looking for a ranked match in quick match wouldn't take forever. (Call of Duty 3)

Great news for Xbox 360 owners, getting this exclusive BETA Demo. Bad news for me living in the UK though, another great addition I will be missing out on (for the time being).

You think you're missing out ? I was going to sign up for the beta, but noooo. My console gets the Red Ring of Death, so now it doesn't even *bleep*ing work !!!

COD games never reach the hype they get. At least for me they don't.

The only thing I really like about them is the online fights, the single player mode gets boring after a while.

Besides, this game doesn't even look next generation. Especially if you compare it to other games that are coming out.

"...this game doesn't even look next generation."

    *Gasp...stagger...THUD!*

Clearly you perceive things differently to most.

This is good news for the 360 fans to start of with. Though I dont care about this game all that much to be honest.. Last one sucked this probably will though the trailer didnt seem to bad.
