The Cooking Continues in Europe

Sakura | August 09, 2007 | News | Wii DS
Cooking Mama is the new popular game series where you help Mama cook various meals. This simulation arrived on the DS in December 2006, and then came out for the Wii early this year. 505 Games just announced that there will be a Cooking Mama 2 for both the DS and the Wii! It will have more mini-games, multi-player capabilities, and it will be better than the first two amazing games.

However, it looks like the game will only be released in Europe. Bad news for the United States, but we can always import.
Featuring all-new recipes, twice as many mini-games and a brand new multiplayer mode enabling you to challenge other wannabe chefts in a special cook-off, Cooking Mama 2 promises to be tastier than its predecessor.

"Following on from the phenomenal success of Cooking Mama, we're thrilled to be bringing Cooking Mama 2 to Europe," said Ian Howe, managing director, 505 Games. "Cooking Mama delivered a truly original IP and Cooking Mama 2 promises to build on its success."

I have the first game for the Wii sitting in my GameFly game queue. I'll be playing it soon, but I hope I don't like it too much now since I would wanna play the sequel and don't do imports

We have a store here that has various imports that are popular (only one I've bought is Tales of Eternia), so I go there if I need imports. I would never actually buy something for another country though, so I don't do imports really either. >.<

As for this game, I might get it if I can. I love the DS one. It's hours and hours of entertainment. @____@ Still haven't gotten the Wii one yet though, so I might have to check that out first.

Europe gets something that America doesn't?! Wow that is amazing. Can't say I have heard of the Cooking Mama games but by the sound of things they are quite successful. Glad to see us Europeans getting a nice deal for a change.

Wierd, games like these usually don't do well enough to reach the level of a game which has sequels. I don't plan on getting the first or second version of this game anytime soon. <.<

Bleh, the original game isn't too bad- good drinking game really. But there is no way in hell I would spend money on a sequel.
