Nintendo has announced the Wii U which will have cross platform third party game support as well as remote controllers that have screens on them with the video feed streamed from the Wii U Console to the controller. Unfortunately Nintendo's stock value is not responding to this well.

Lol. Why is Darksiders II attached to this article?

Darksiders II is a launch title for it.. I think it should also list like DiRT, Metro Last Light, Assassins Creed and every other game that was announced as a launch title for it too.

I suppose the share holders don't agree with the direction the console is taking.

It is going to be a little bit of a gamble in my opinion, so I imagine some people selling up now.

I think it's cause it overlaps everything else. Why would you buy a Wii when the Wii U is coming? It's always a problem when new consoles come out, it stunts the current one for awhile.

It probably even stole 3ds thunder as well. Really no other way to do it though.

ouch. its gonna be a gamble but it depends most on the price they set. it does help that most if not all Wii accessories will be compatible, and i imagine games too, so consumers can just sell the console and keep everything else.

Zelda does sound great having a dedicated screen for inventory though.

Not to mention Zelda graphics that make even the highest end PC's look and yelp. I loved watching that footage knowing it was running in real time on the hardware. Proved everything I said right in the build up to E3 that the Wii U would in fact not just be more powerful than PS3 and 360 but more powerful by a considerable margin.. As expected there is practically a generations difference in visuals in that Zelda footage.

I can name numerous ps3 games that look better than Zelda, i'm sure some xbox360 people can come up with alot of games that beat zelda too.

Uhh what? Were we watching the same E3? Zelda looked nice definitely, I cant wait to play it, but better than PS3 and 360 graphics? I don't think so.

Surely if the specs were as you put it "more powerful by a considerable margin" then they would have mentioned that was one of the main things in the reveal. "Check out our console, awesomely powerful with this amazingly cool controller" instead it was "HERES OUR NEW CONTROLLER!!! oh yea, we have a console too."

I'm with you two, there's no way the Wii U is more powerful than the PS3 and 360 by a big margin or Nintendo would have flaunted it, plus the Zelda game wasn't THAT impressive, sure it looked absolutely amazing but it wasn't better than some games out already.

no theres not a "generations difference" in visuals. it looks pretty close to on par with PS3/360 graphics and is a huge step over Twilight Princess or the newest Zelda game's visuals but not by a ton.
