It's the same old story: while North America's gaming consumers enjoy the benefits of hardware price cuts, special offers, and software bundles, the poor (always loyal) saps over in the UK and Europe continue to go without - or are an afterthought, at best. Well, it would appear UK retailers are getting a little fed up with the way Sony et al are treating the Brits.

UK retailers and publishers alike are beginning to fret over the slow uptake of the PS3, with many speaking out about Sony’s stingy approach to UK pricing. A recently announced games bundle just doesn’t cut the mustard, according to Duncan Cross, head of the games section for supermarket chain Asda. "I think for us and for Asda's customers there's no doubt that we'd like to have seen some price movement on PS3," Cross told MCV.

Oh come on there not being Unfair. The price cut was for the unsold Consoles in the U.S then be phased out. Im sure at November there will be a bigger universal Price cut, since The manufacturing and cost of the materials will be cheaper than now.

Also the American merket deserve a cut... They weren't buying the console, where as the UK has bought as many PS3's in 4 months as America bought in 8 months.

Oh come on because we are better consumers we don't deserve a price cut? That seems a little backwards to me, if it's selling better here then they should be able to afford the price cut. We are getting totally screwed over the PS3 on release was £450 alone that amoutns to nearly $900. Even before the price cut the US ps3s were no where near that price.

I'm totally with the UK here, U.S only price drop for the loss. If your gonna sell something, be fair and sell it for equal prices everywhere. Don't give some special treatment to one place.

See anyone from the UK is going to agree with this article Existenz and finalblade98, you don't understand the frustration we have of always getting second best in the gaming world.

I have to add it isn't just the PS3 that favour Americans, Microsoft seem to adore American 360 owners too.

We do know the frustration but that price cut was a limit one to phase out the 60Gb console, if you want a limited one please contact Sony. But maybe you should wait and think, sony might make a bigger universal price cut in a few months. Whats better a $100
      price cut or $200.

In the Metal Gear Solid Series, the UK always got extras. now games are released world wide and they don't have region codes anymore so I wouldn't be so upset.

The UK might get a price cut sooner than they think. Only God knows.

Isn't that illegal? Didn't Sony make all the consoles go down 100$?

It's pretty shitty in my opinion that Sony only gave the US a price cut. The UK should get a price cut as well, not just some lame bundle package.

Well the PS3 did come to the U.S before so it's only fair imo. Just wait. A little bit of patience won't hurt.

It would be nice to see one come over here as "you guys" always seem to get the price cuts, I am tho in no rush for the console.
