While Manhunt fights its crippling Adults Only rating in the US, Rockstar Games' appeal to overturn the complete ban handed out in the UK by the BBFC isn't looking like a quick fix deal. Indeed, UK-based fans may have to swallow the prospect of the appeal dragging out for months rather than weeks.

Rockstar announced it would be appealing Manhunt 2’s ban in the UK last week, but UK trade paper MCV has now warned that the developer could be in for a lengthy scrap with the BBFC before the appeals process is done and dusted. And, as MCV grimly points out, that could mean the hype surrounding the game may well have died down by the time it appears on store shelves.

Jeezus, Rockstar has it bad...people are literally gunning JUST for them...

Does anyone even know that "The Darkness" video game exists????

That's a pretty good point. The Darkness was extremely violent, sickeningly so in places.

I'm assuming it got through with an M (18) based on it being "comic book" inspired and not wholly realistic in its expression.

Not that I agree with the bashing of Rockstar, but I do believe that the studio needs to take greater care with the content it produces. Sometimes it seems as though Rockstar produces über contentious games simply because of the hype they will receive... not because they're any good.

If i was Rockstar i would tell sony to allow the game and sell it online where you need identification to enter and buy the game. That will bypass everything. And also allow other regions to use the site to get it. People need to learn this is just a game, and stop being stupid.

They can't "tell sony" to do anything.

Well they should they just lost a potential System seller. the need to think of the benefits. Like selling and getting back into the war.

Shame that these steps are having to be taken, as mentioned the hype around the game would have probably died down by the time the game gets given the go ahead (if it does).

I'm not really interested in this game, but it sucks that they have to wait for this game. The hype will only get bigger though. This should make even more sales because of the pain they have to go through to actually get it.

That's BS. I hate this story it makes me almost cry. I really wanted to but what sten mk II said was true, it will be more and more anticipated and sales will get bigger because of the news coverage this game has got in the UK.

I hate the idea that they are tryin to stop the game, but all this hype if it is allowed I think will become a good thing for rockstar.
