In an interview with creative producer for the Kojima development team, Yoshikazu Matsuhana, stated that the original Metal Gear Solid will not be appearing in the recently announced HD collection. While this may be shocking to some, what’s even more shocking is the reason why it will not be included.

“Metal Gear Solid 1 was for the PSone,” he said. “It has a very, very low polygon count. While at the time the game was something new and refreshing, just bringing it as is into HD probably wouldn’t have that much meaning to us."
