The August 24 release of Irrational Games' BioShock is now looming, and in order to further drum up interest in the watery FPS/RPG hybrid, a sexy new Launch Trailer has hit the Net following its Spike TV debut. What's more, there's a playable demo on Xbox Live... and a new 100% review score from Gamer.tv. Excited? We are!

For the past day or two the promise of a “special announcement” has been floating around on the Interweb regarding 2K and Irrational Games’ underwater epic BioShock. Well, that promise has now been duly fulfilled.

No, sadly publisher 2K didn’t announce that the hotly-tipped FPS/RPG hybrid would arrive free to anyone prepared to legally change their name to Captain Nemo, nor did they reveal that each copy of the BioShock Collector’s Edition would come with its own inflatable Big Daddy and a year’s free supply of Adam.

No, unfortunately for BioShock nerds around the globe (GamerSquad included), the big unveiling was much more ‘traditional’ in its delivery and effect.

    A PS3 version still isn't confirmed FinalBlade.

    Still I reckon a few months after launch they'll announce a PS3 version, of course by then everyone will be over it and it will sell horribly

    No, the so called 'big' announcement was just to say its on Marketplace as a demo...

    A 100% review? I don't care how good a game is, I don't think any game will deserve 100%....

      Then the 100% rating shouldn't even exist, should it?

        100 is just a number; you can't say a 100% rating shouldn't exist. He's just saying no game should receive a perfect rating, which I have to agree with.

          I disagree with a game that cant be 100%/ 10out of 10 ect. It isnt like that person is making a statement, its just their opinon that the game is perfect. It just what they think, if the said "This is IMO a perfect game" you cant say anything against it.

    Eh, the game is alright. I was playing it for about 30 minutes before. It didn't really impress me so far.

    100% 10/10 is just a point of reference, saying thats the max, theoretical, score a game/thing can get...

    It should never be used by a serious reviewer, since it is like saying something is 100% efficient, with no faults whatsoever...

    Fanboys/Fangirls and stuff can use 10/10 and other perfect scores, but some level of professionalism should be maintained when you're an official reviewer/previewer...Give it a 9.5 out of 10, or even a 9.9/10, but saying something is 'perfect' not only shows a level of unprofessional behaviour (fanpersonism), but can set up unrealistic expectations for people reading said reviews/previews...

    Just my opinion on the usage of 100% scores, so you don't have to care about that ;;

    I tend to agree, but I'm much more annoyed by reviewers that label a game as 7/10 (70%) as a sign of it being average... when 7 is not 5, and 5 most certainly IS the average. At least with 100% most people are able to discern that personal opinion weighs in heavily but it's clear the game is extremely good. With a 7/10 it's often hard to know whether to buy the game because it's better than average, or to perhaps give it a miss because it's only average. Rant over.

    It doesnt look like a 5/5er game, or at least not from judging what the shown on that trailer.
