Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 are set to duke it out this fall, but the developers behind BF3 don't think a competition is worth the hassle.
In a recent interview with PSM3, Patrick Bach, executive producer for Battlefield 3, explains that the rivalry between the two series is rather unfounded due to several factors. First of all, he says that in order for there to be this grandiose, drawn out fight, that would mean that the two series are competing at “the same sport.”

I'm probably boycotting COD games from now on, feel as though I waste my money on them, Battfield games have always been better and more fun.
I'm quite certain MW3 is going to destroy BF3 in sales through sheer popularity and hype, but I don't care about that. I just want them both to be great games because I'm extremely excited for them.
I'm especially interested when it comes to BF3. I think that, no matter what the devs say, they are competing with MW3. I'm very intrigued to see if this just ends up being another title coming up short, like Medal of Honor or Homefront, or if they actually bring something new and compelling to the table.
So far, the main thing I keep hearing about BF3 is "Teh Graffickz r uhmazing!!", which actually worries me. That's often a sign that game is just going to look pretty and fall short everywhere else. I sincerely hope that's not the case this time.
Only time will tell.
