The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will not come with trophies when the 5th anniversary re-release hots stores. Bear in mind, however, that the original game released before trophy support was added.

This won't affect my decision to buy the re-released version. I just want to play Oblivion and see if it's as good as everyone says it is.

I think it's pretty overrated imo, it's not a bad game, but there are some aspects of it that hold it back, like the level scaling.

        I absolutely agree.

There are also other aspects that were good when the game released, but have not aged well.

I still found the game incredibly fun, don't get me wrong. It's just that, when looking back, I don't really see why I found it so much fun.

From what I experienced when I played it recently, the graphics weren't very good, the animations were laughable, the voice-overs were repetitive/poor, leveling (a critical part of an RPG) was counterproductive, the entire world stopped when you talked to NPCs, third person view was a bit of a joke, companions were shit, you could kill a man in Reno just to watch him die and every guard in the world would know about it instantly, and I found the controls to feel odd and sort of clunky.

Somehow, though, I got about 150 hours of pure bliss out of the game . For all it's flaws, I still found it a lot of fun, mostly because there's so much content, but it hasn't aged well in my opinion. I played it recently, and I felt like I was playing a different game than what I was playing 4-5 years ago.

        I'm ready for Skyrim.

Skyrim looks amazing, I hope it fixes the issues from Oblivion, like the level scaling, samey looking caves and dungeons, and other such complains.

Yeah, Skyrim looks like it will address nearly every single legitimate issue anyone had with Oblivion.

          I'm definitely excited for it.

However, my brain thinks it will be a perfect game, but my heart is wary of old disappointments. I'm trying not to get too excited because I'm afraid of being let down.

Yeah man I hear you on that, best not to let the hype get to you, I always say that's the downfall of most games, the inability to live up to the hype.
