According to 'Bill Nye: The Science Guy', keeping your eyes too close to the screen while playing videogames can ruin your vision. While playing handhelds like the DS or PSP, you should keep the screen a 'forearm's length' away from your face. While playing on the computer, you should keep your eyes an 'arms length' away from the screen.

Interesting video. I guess I gotta move my computer chair further from the screen.
Being that close is super dangerous.
I don't even stand that close any my vision is horrible. I mean, really horrible
Well, it is good to know incase i might slip up and move them closer.
Still a arm length away from handheld?
Won't that mean you'll have to walk around with your arms fully extended like a zombie?
but thanks bill for your scientific fact, i already knew this, next you will say keep 4 feet away from movie theater while watching a movie.
I used to watch this geek every two weeks in Physics at school
Probably the funniest dude ever, apart from saying videogames ruin our eyes. We all know it's rumours.
Somewhat sarcastic/tad annoyed:
Well no duh! Doesn't take a genius to know having computer screens and tv screens and such too close to your eyes is dangerous, but then again I spose you don't see a lot of intelligent everyday people these days with various exceptions. If your a regular user of such devices and don't know, then I suggest you start looking at what else you don't know about the things your screwing with. It's only common sense but these days people seem to lack that I spose.
Serious:
With that out of the way, I do say good job to him for informing people about it even though they should already know to some degree. It's a good thing to do and given today's number of people using computers and such, I think this is really important. Though I can't say I totally understand playing while tired, if your feeling tired, you sleep. Whats so hard about that? Anyway, its good to see somebody trying to inform the masses the dangers of such things.
I had to wear them though.
But will this make you near-sighted or far sighted?
