We knew we were expecting a real treat when we heard that a Metal Gear Solid HD Collection was on its way, but the price point in both the US and UK has definitely impressed. Get ready to splash a modest amount of cash this Winter, as this is one collection that is well and truly worth the price-tag.

Metal Gear Solid fans were delighted this E3 when Kojima announced that a beautiful HD Collection should be in our consoles in time for the holiday season. Snake was able to keep our attention without flashy graphics, due to its fantastic building of suspense that was balanced with a good lick of comedy, but HD can never be a bad thing. I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the pricing is at Gamestop and GAME; maybe my money will accidentally fall out of my purse and into the hand of a cashier this winter!

£39.99 is not a "great" price from GAME, what a rip-off. Play.com are advertising it at a much more reasonable £29.99

I don't live in the UK or US, but from what I've heard those prices seem to be for the equivalent of a full game, which isn't exactly a great deal considering these are just remastered classics.

    That works out to AU$100.

Retail games in Aus work out to be twice as much (US$50 AU$100) as the US/NA and 2.5 times as much as the UK (40 pounds AUS$100) and considering most all other collections as far as I know have never costed more than I think $60 or $70.

Iirc the Tomb Raider and Sly Cooper collections only cost AU$50 each.

Thanks for your feedback, guys/girls. I still stand by my opinion that the price is great, but that's of course open for debate. To me, the playtime, nostalgia and enjoyment I got from MGS is totally worth the price of one standard game.

I'm sure I will get it no matter the cost because MGS is my favourite game series of all time.

I'd pay anything for those games, MGS is too good to turn away.
