Playstation 3 GamerCard In The Works? Well It Was Seen In The UT3 Demo...

Could this be the answer to XBOX 360's GamerTags? During the Edinburgh Interactive Festival players had the chance to play the Unreal Tournament 3 Demo and the people at games-digest noticed something interesting in the game's menu system.

Now it could simply be something related solely to UT3, however the name (Gamercard) does make you think that there may be more behind it than meets the eye. When Epic's Mark Rein was quizzed about it, his reply was hugely suspicious:

    Oops, you shouldn’t have seen that
Well we will simply have to wait to till more information is revealed.

We would have liked to grabbed a pic, and were little deterred by the venue’s strict no camera phone policy and dodgy lighting, however Mark Rein’s rapid covering of the projector with his hand put pay to that cunning idea.

    Haha oh guys, you really don't know nothing about Gamertag? It is basically your profile and everything you do gets recorded. Every game you play can be seen by other gamers and every achievement you have collected can also be seen and more. It's the biggest reason why I became a 360 fanboy, it would be excellent to see Sony do something similar with the PS3, adding Entitlements would be amazing.

    "Shouldnt have seen that", he says? Then it must be something they planned and then cancelled but forgot to remove it from the demo.
