I don't think Rockstar were too happy about how it performed in sales, reviews and fan reaction. Rockstar pumped hundreds of millions of dollars into this title over a 7 year period and it garnered average press and less than stellar sales by Rockstar standards. I think this was coming and I don't see Rockstar funding a project like this again, they will just do everything themselves.

Generally if a game takes more than four years to make, you're doing it wrong.

Don't exactly blame Rockstar for breaking things off. The game was a pretty decent success, but it probably wasn't worth seven years. Particularly if the reputation of the boss is anything to go by.

I hope this doesn't affect the sequel too much. And if the sequel is made. I hope R* can acquire the title because I'd rather them helm it than Team Bondi. Not that I don't trust them with it on their own, it's just R* has already proven themselves. Bondi has not.
