There are some things in life that you simply cannot live without, Cookie & Cream ice cream, Jennifer Connelly, Lost, and Amy Winehouse all spring to mind. But what about an old NES controller outfitted with PC mouse internals and actually usable on your desktop when sexy retro cursor control is necessary. Sign us up!
The trusty old NES controller has cropped up in all manner of unlikely places recently, appearing on necklaces, belt buckles, and even being redesigned as an iPod remote.
We can now add "optical mouse" to that list, as Alaska-based modding enthusiast "Zieak" has gone and squashed the innards of an old computer mouse into the body of the classic peripheral, allowing him to control his PCs cursor using the modified vintage joypad.

Ha, that's amazing, and I bet you ten to one that more than enough people are going to buy one, even if they never hook it up to their computers.
I don't think this will sell as well as an optical DELL mouse, for example, but it might, we'll have to wait and see.
