Disney just announced the release date for their next-gen Turok series, developed by Propaganda Games. It will be coming out February 8, 2008 for Europe. No word for American release but it will probably be around the same time frame. The game was supposed to come out this summer but it was a smart move to move it to winter and not be overshadowed by games like Halo 3 and Call Of Duty 4.

Disney Interactive has announced that Turok, the first next-gen outing for its dinosaur hunting franchise, will be hitting European stores on February 8, 2008.

The game had been lined-up for an autumn release, but those hungry for some dino-fuelled action will now have to wait.

Turok is being created using the Unreal 3 Engine and is set 200 years in the future. Players take on the role of Joseph Turok in a fight to take down Roland Kane, a man once a mentor to Turok. Before Turok gets the chance to stop Kane, he's shot down and finds himself in the middle of prehistoric world - cue plenty of dinosaur action.

The game's shaping up very nicely and given the strong competition this winter, we'd rather see Turok given an extra few months than be overwhelmed by the likes of Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4.

Nice to see Europe gets dated before America does for a change. Also I'm in confusion about Disney having the rights ofr Turok? That's a weird one.
