Bungie: Halo 3 for PC is not in development

It's perhaps THE most eagerly anticipated gaming title of the year yet although the Xbox 360 version of Halo 3 is almost upon us, Bungie isn't divulging any information relating to the PC port of Master Chief's final fight, except to say that it will happen, but nothing is being worked on as of now. Boo!

Like the continuous ebb and flow of the tides and the inevitability of sunrise and sunset, Halo 3 will be released on the PC at some stage in the future. Still, Bungie is keeping quiet about any such port in light of the game's impending Xbox 360 release.

"I can tell you for a fact that there's not one line of code written for a PC version at this point," Bungie's Frank O'Connor told GameSpot.

    Doesn't surprise me. They want to see how well it does on XBox 360 before risking it on the PC.

      Risking it? You're kidding me right? It doesn't matter, everyone is going to buy Halo 3 whether it's good or not. The fan base is comprised largely of casual gamers that don't really know what makes a good game.

    Well, Halo 2 was a Xbox exclusive for years before they announced it was going to work with Vista. It wouldn't surprise me if Bungie changed their minds in three to five years and decided to make a PC port.

      Halo 2 was intended to eventually be on Vista for a long while, but they could only release it once Vista itself had been released, so they had to keep pushing it back because Vista kept getting pushed back. They couldn't release a game for an operating system that hadn't been released yet.

      Change their minds? They've already been made, they're saying that they're going to port it to PC, just that they haven't started on it yet.

    Why should anyone worry, Halo 2 came for PC though it was 3 years.
    I say enjoy and get 360 for halo 3

    That shoots down the rumours of a Halo 3 Achievement list for the PC version of the game being shown on Xbox.com then. Not suprising really to hear this, since it took Halo 2 long enough to transfer to PC, should be the same with Halo 3.
