Game publisher THQ has announced today that three of its internal development teams will be shut down and 200 of its employees will be laid off in the process. The company is planning on moving towards more serious IPs and getting rid of their kid’s titles and movie-based titles as well as the MX vs ATV series. Check out the news below.

    wow that is really sad. THQ stocks lost major money when the reviews of homefront came out. They also laid off workers that same day due to the hit the company took due to the reviews. they do not even make profit off homefront but hope to brake even. Sad news but hope this will allow them to do bigger better games that they can profit off and gamers will love.

    Why are they just now closing this studio but didn't delay on killing off Frontline, one of their few bankable IPs.

    why they killed some and not others i could not say.. they say they are getting rid of movie based titles.. but those are the ones that have been profitable so it is a little odd as to what there plan is.. i think they got something up there sleeve..going for the big payday. rater then making a few good/great games they want to make 1 or 2 awesome selling games. rockstar or blizzard type thing. (not saying they think they can get those types of sales)
