Game Podunk editor MarcusEstrada reports that GameStop is a successful gaming store in US and now they own a company named Spawn for streaming service. The intention of Spawn was to use it for PC and other internet-devices, but GameStop is willing to go a bit further and stream games into a console. Read on for more details.

It's no mystery that in the US market GameStop is the most popular gaming store out there. For better or for worse, there isn't much competition in the dedicated game store market (that doesn't eventually get swallowed up by GameStop).

Wasn't there something like this claiming to make consoles obselete, where you streamed games rather than getting discs or downloads? X-play, was it?

Anyone who's been following care to say why it's gone dark?

OnLive? that still has a lot of bugs to work out. i tried out Homefront on it when it came out and it sucked hardcore. dont know if theyve improved it since but it was far too laggy for a shooter. also it produced some graphical glitches every 30 or so seconds. i think theyre 5-10 years ahead of the curve.
