Valve's DOTA 2 isn't too far off from release now, and many excited fans are gearing up for its release. But do you know who else planned on using the name, "DOTA (Day of the Ancients)"? None other than Blizzard, who was making a new DOTA mod for StarCraft II.

      That was the fan made one. From this, it sounds like Bliz was trying to make a DotA Mod for SCII themselves.
