Good for Montreal and good for Square Enix. Maybe the needless SE hating will pause for awhile. Deus Ex is a fantastic game!

I wouldn't call it "needless hating", as SE has been largely underperforming for the past decade. It is about time they got something right.

underperforming is a matter of opinion. I enjoyed FFXIII. just because people have been corrupted by wRPGs does not mean FFXIII should be just like them. Besides, SE has had plenty of great games coming out, you just choose to focus on two things 1) Final Fantasy numbered titles and 2) the negative responses regarding them. I have bought about 1 or 2 SE games every year for the past couple years and I have enjoyed just about every game...

Saying "needless hate" is also only your opinion. The fact is that the vast majority of customers have been displeased with SE this past decade. Also, you only listed one example of a game you liked other than Deus Ex. Not exactly a strong defense for their releases the past few years.

lol, or because I did not want to list every game. But since you are being a dick about it, sure. All the Final Fantasy Tactics games in the past decade. All the Kingdom Hearts games, minus that one cricket game for the cell phones. Star Ocean series. Valkyrie Profile. Crisis Core. Just Cause 2. Nier. Singularity (not many people played it though, but solid game) Final Fantasy XII, Final Fantasy XIII. Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Also, the "vast majority" does not equal haters on the internet, they are simply the most vocal because that is how people complain. It sold 5 million copies, your vast majority line does not work here.

It certainly does, because selling copies does not make a game good AND I am referring to the general discontent SE as a whole from the vast majority of gamers.

The kingdom hearts games have been disappointing since the second, star ocean and valkyrie profile were developed by tri ace (and star ocean 4 wasn't any good), final fantasy xii is pretty much the definition of "niche" for a final fantasy game, and many people were disappointed by it and final fantasy xiii.

People aren't "needlessly hating", you just assume that everyone that disagrees with you is trolling. You have failed to really put forth a good argument that people are "needlessly hating" on SE this past decade, so just drop it.

your whole post was you posting your opinion and stating it as fact... Your entire post.

I said needless because of my typical line of "corrupted wRPG gamers" that I use as a joke all the time on here. You have failed to prove any of your points, but you fail to see the point, this is all opinion based. Dont go throwing around "majority of gamers" when you have nothing to back you up. Sales matter more in this conversation than "well my friends said this and I read on the internet peopling hating on em."

i think its mostly cause Eidos has a lot of good franchises at the moment. Hitman 5 is hopefully going to rock also, and the way they are taking the new Tomb Raider sounds intriguing at least.
