If you're a PS2-based Guitar Hero fan feeling somewhat disgruntled by the lack of love shown to you by Harmonix where the upcoming Rock Band is concerned... worry no more.

Rock Band has been confirmed for the PlayStation 2 as well as the PS3 and Xbox 360. Now, that just leaves peeved Wii fans...

An EA press release has revealed that Rock Band, the multi-instrumental strum/bang/sing-‘em-up, will be coming out on the PlayStation 2, as well as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Rock Band creator Harmonix has already enjoyed phenomenal success on the PS2 through its two Guitar Hero games, and the appearance of Rock Band on the popular platform is sure to further boost sales of what promises to be a pricey product.

I like how you completely neglected to mention that the game is only for Europe at the moment.

As usual, I must also leave my snarky "Konami > this crap" comment.

    Neglected to mention, ya say.

You mean like how tons of US-based sites always fail to mention that games/hardware/price cuts arriving there first won't affect Europe for eons because Europe is treated like an afterthought region. Allow us to revel when we can, eh.

That was a great retort. I'll give a thumbs up for it.

Also, this is great news to hear. I thought I'd be getting shafted just because I don't have a next gen console.

Good to see that they are still following up with the PS2, especially with the recent surplus of sales and such it has gotten.
