At the Metal Gear Solid 4 press conference, Hideo Kojima letting a little go where there is a possibility that you might be able to play your own custom soundtrack while playing the game. Also, Kojima mentioned that Metal Gear Solid 4 would feature only partial online play, while Metal Gear Solid Online will be sold separately. No one is completely sure how much partial is, but we'll see when it releases.

When asked a horridly conceived question about the game's soundtrack, Kojima responded with what he described as a bit of a slip, telling the crowd that "there will be a special feature where maybe you can play your favorite [soundtrack]." We're not sure if that means Kojima and crew are planning to include just a demo for Metal Gear Online [in Metal Gear Solid 4] or if it will feature some other facet of the online component.

I'm going to get Metal Gear Online anyways, so I'm not all to bothered about these limited online capabilities for Metal Gear Solid 4 - Although admittedly it would have been nice.

The idea of the custom soundtrack sounds amazing as well, as a lot of PS3 fans have been waiting awhile for this feature. However I don't think this is the best game for a custom soundtrack. For me it would ruin part of the experience ... ^^

Haha, the first PS3 game with a custom soundtrack is one I don't even care to listen to my own music while playing. MGS has always had an amazing score, Harry Gregson Williams for the win!

It's cool that MGS4 will come with some limited online though, that's better than none at all.

Agreed. I'd much rather listen to Harry Gregson Williams then listen to songs I've heard a 100 times already on my HDD.
