Sony is really trying to boost sales this holiday season, beefing up the Playstation 2 with more games, giving it a motion sensing controller and sending out a new Playstation Portable 'Slim'. The PS2 plans to take on the Wii, the PSP hoping to gain more ground on the DS battle. Unfortunately, the PS2 is now available to play copied and pirated games and the PSP Slim, which was thought 'unhackable' has been hacked already, allowing PSP owners to downgrade.

Sony has branded its old console the PS2 a “Wii beater” this Xmas, by launching a large array of games and also having a motion sensing controller (much like the wii mote) for it, also relaunching the PSP (Playstation Portable) in a new thinner guise cleverly named “The Playstation Portable Slim” to go head to head against the excellent Nintendo DS.

Every console has gotten hacked. Sony is no less secure, besides, have you forgotten who you're dealing with, with XBOX. Microsoft? Is that a joke?

The reason the PS2 is so readily hacked is because there are so many consoles and games out there. It's just like the reason there are more viruses for PCs than Macs, so many more PCs out there.

Use your head. The reason the PSP has been hacked so much is because it's got so much untapped potential.

Sony is getting hacked left and right. I don't think or know if the Playstation 3 has been craced yet, but I'm sure it will be soon. Sony needs to stop pretending that their consoles and handhelds are 'unhackable', trying to scare people off and wasting their time instead of actually making their consoles unhackable. Well, not that I would want them to, but you know, for the better of Sony. All gamers love when consoles get hacked.

True, but the Playstation Portable Slim got hacked(or more so the battery) before it's even going to be released.

Is the Playstation 3 hacked yet?

What.. they DO know that the Wii has been hacked for a while now, right? It's just that most of the Wii owners are the more casual gamers who don't know how to pirate games, or don't know that it even exists.

Add another entry to the things Sony is getting owned by:
    DS
    Wii
    360
    Developers
    Media
    Price Points

and now Piracy, i feel bad for Sony, but there motto shouldnt have been "Tape the competiters technology and price points together, and charge developers 20 times what Nintendo charges them." Bad Karma, baby

Go Sony! Hah, it's such a shame that they're getting owned by the competition, and as for the piracy thing, it's a real shame but that's business.

Sony really need to learn when to quit, seriously. They're trying so hard on beating Nintendo, instead of concentrating on their own technology, I guess.
