Games We Love but Wish We Could Love Playing
10 hours 52 mins ago
Television network ITV has made a blunder in which it showed game footage in a documentary.
The documentary, Exposure, used footage of a helicopter being shot down which was supposedly from 1988. The text, 'IRA film 1988' was displayed on the screen while the footage was shown. In fact, the footage was from the game ArmA II.
The chief executive of the game's developer was reported to have said it was 'weird' to see the footage used as it was. ITV said, 'it would appear that during the editing process the correct clip ... was not selected' and that 'other footage was mistakenly included'.
The documentary has been removed from ITV's online catch-up service.
The pictures were from a game called ArmA 2. ITV has said the mistake was "an unfortunate result of human error".
