The Medal of Honor: Airborne Demo was released on the Xbox Live Marketplace recently, so how does it hold up?

Well, not so good. The game plays like any other generic WWII shooter, and the paratrooper aspect of the game isn't as exciting as it was made out to be. There is a lot of work that would need to be done to make this game stand out more. Go to the source to see what issues hinder the game experience and what new additions make it a bit more exciting.

As most of you know the Medal of Honor: Airborne Demo is now available on the Xbox Live Marketplace. After playing it for a little while I must say I am disappointed (hence the title). I know it is just a demo and I will be picking up the full copy next month, but even though they introduce some new gameplay elements (mainly dropping yourself into any part of the level) it still feels like the same old WWII shooters a lot of us have become bored of. Maybe I had too high expectations?

I know, it's just a WWII cliche with you just shooting Germans with your typical weapons such as the Thompson, MP40, etc. Never did that before. The objectives were also done to hell like "Destroy the Panzer Tanks." What World War II game hasn't done that before?

I'm a bit surprised, I must say. I used to like MoH...first few games. The parachuting and such seemed pretty fun, decent visuals, but yeah I bet it does feel like any other WWII shooter...too many of those to go around as it is. I need a break from WWII.

It was ok, not incredible but OK. It was basically Medal of Honor with some larger levels, but that's it. Parachuting to different areas was fun, really. Otherwise, it was just the typical Medal of Honor game.

I think he was just expecting too much. I wasn't expecting a big departure from the game. Then again, I was never planning to buy it anyway. I actually enjoyed it, much more than a normal MoH game, due to the less linear levels, so it's still decent.

I thought the graphics were pretty damn good for a Medal of Honor game. The gameplay was pretty generic, though... definitely a game to be overshadowed by the big hits of this holiday season.

Am I the only guy who liked it? I seriously thought it was fun to play. Maybe it was my terribly low expectations after playing MoH: Rising Sun and European Assault, but I honestly really enjoyed the playing the demo. Sure, it didn't really play differently than any other WWII game, but it was still fun to play! I thought the graphics were fantastic, and the parachuting was fun. And I loved how the level was huge and where ever you went, a battle was going on. I dunno, I just thought it looked really cool. I'm optimistic this time. The final game might end up doing pretty well. Definitely nothing like CoD4, but I think it might be a good game.

This demo seems to be a hit or miss with a lot of people. Some people like it for the same reasons as Droid, other people dislike it for the same reasons I do etc.

I've heard some people complain about the aiming system too, and I was right about those who don't like the fact you can't move when using your sights. Even though I would do that in Call of Duty 2, I don't find myself needing to use it, and I prefer taking cover and popping out instead.
