The Call of Duty 4 Beta for the 360 is no longer "First Come, First Serve". Due to overwhelming demand for the Beta, hopeful participants can apply until 7pm PDT, August 28th (tomorrow) and will be chosen randomly. It is still for USA-based accounts only.
Good news for me and the countless other people who went to charlieoscardelta.com only to have the site never load, even after dozens of tries. I had the site ready, and after I hit refresh at 2 PM (I am in Central Time), BAM! I couldn’t connect to the site due to the server being too busy. I tried for about 40 minutes, having it load once, but then after clicking “Enter Now” I arrived at yet another connection error page. I quickly rushed over to the NeoGAF forums to make sure other people were being *bleeped* (misery loves company) and was glad to see I was only one of many hopeful Beta participants that couldn’t register.
Well now when you go to the Beta page, you get the following message:
“Due to overwhelming interest in the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Multiplayer Beta, we will no longer be accepting entry into the program on a first come, first serve basis. To ensure everyone has a fair shot at getting in, the Beta Registration System will reopen shortly, and will remain open for 24 hours. We will collect names until 7pm PDT tomorrow, Tuesday August 28th, after which we will randomly select names for entry into the Beta.”
Those of you who thought it was too late better head your ass over to here and register before tomorrow evening. Now all I have to do is patiently wait for 72 hours or less praying I get an email saying I was admitted into the Beta. It sure doesn’t help that some of my Neoseeker peeps are already playing…
PS- Still US-based Xbox Live accounts only!
