ESRB Refuses to Disclose Manhunt Details

Jeterocks | August 28, 2007 | News | Playstation 2 Wii
After the M rating was given to Manhunt 2, People instantly wanted to know what was cut out of the game...Well, ESRB are in no way going to disclose exactly what was cut/modified.

Guess we will just have to wait and see
Last week the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) quietly announced it had re-rated Rockstar's controversial game Manhunt 2 from an Adults Only (AO) rating to a Mature (M) after the developer resubmitted the title for review. The ESRB did not disclose any details about what content had been changed in the new version that warranted a lower rating. Early previews of the game had shown us Manhunt 2 was the goriest game we'd ever seen, including sequences of castration with a pair of pliers, sawing into an enemy's groin and buttocks, and stabbing their neck with a pen.

why would Rockstar tell us? If they had to cut out more than they wanted, and told people that...then maybe it would shy people away from buying the game. If they don't tell people what they cut out, that speculation and curiosity is still there, and people will buy the game to find out

Not really...If they were to tell everyone that they cut very little out and it was practically the same game, sure the hype would still be there...but then they have the added pressure from all the media to change it more. by keeping it a secret until launch, It keeps a majority of the critics of their backs, yet still builds of the mystery and hype because now people are anxious to see what was cut out.
