In a press release released by Microsoft today, it was announced that Halo 3 has officially gone gold, meaning the title is completed and has been released to manufacturing. Unless something goes horribly wrong with production, Halo 3 should be set for its September 25th release.

And I don’t mean just money-wise in the pockets of Microsoft and Bungie.

Halo 3 went officially gold today, meaning the title is completed and has been released to manufacturing. It was suspected that it was going to soon, as Frank O’ Connor (more affectionately known as Frankie) from Bungie Studios was seen playing the final build on his Xbox Live account. Harold Ryan, Studio Head at Bungie Studios, said the following:

“This is a huge milestone for us and a big cause for celebration at Bungie and Microsoft Game Studios. This is the game we’ve always wanted to make and certainly the best game our studio has developed. We can’t wait for gamers to get their hands on it on Sept. 25.”

Well, I’m sure gamers can’t wait to get their hands on it too Harold.

Now all I have to do is finish paying off my incredibly expensive Legendary edition…

Um i feel the term gold should be left out unless your talking about sales.

      ?

Gold is the term used when a game is completed and sent for manufacturing. I don't hear it used for videogame sales.

Well normally if it says halo 3 goes gold it usually refers to sales, not completed. I mean they could have said Halo 3 is done. Im just saying though, i don't see why i get 3 thumbs down.

No, when they say a game goes gold it never means sales. Whenever you hear a game "going gold", it always means it is completed and being sent to manufacturing.

Glad it's finished. Wish I had a way to preorder it as well as the money.
