Kimberly Otzman, a spokeswoman for Sony's gaming business in Tokyo guesses that Sony will cut the prices of the 80GB Playstation 3's when the older, 60GB model sells out. The 60GB model will probably last through October, but once it's gone, Sony is expected to cut the original $600 80GB model to $500.

Sony Corp., the biggest maker of video-game players, may lower the U.S. price of the newest PlayStation 3 console once supplies of an older model are sold, an analyst said.

It's what Sony should do, but might not, considering if they keep cutting the prices of their console, they'll start losing money.
