Games We Love but Wish We Could Love Playing

As of November 15, 2001, the Xbox is officially 10 years old. Both the system and the company have come a long way since that unforgettable launch day, with many high and low points to speak of. Whether it was the launch release of Halo: Combat Evolved or the unveiling of Xbox Live in 2002, it seems like there's always been a lot to talk about when it comes to the big X. Check out just what made the Xbox so memorable, and what this anniversary means to gamers.
Twas the morning of November 15, 2001. At the front of my local Best Buy was hundreds of nerds, including myself, who were eagerly awaiting those double doors to open. It was below freezing and all of us were just as anxious to just get in the warmth of the store, let alone pick up our reservations. The big black box that many of us would soon call the Xbox, was so close, yet so far away. The thought of playing a brand new system that wasn't a Sony or Nintendo product was exciting to me; probably the most excited I had been for a console since the ill-fated Sega Dreamcast. Of course there was one other thing we were waiting on as well, and that was Halo: Combat Evolved. The talk outside was littered with discussions of Master Chief, the awesome looking graphics we had seen from early screen-shots, and of course, how badly we were going to kick each other's asses in the multiplayer.
