There are a lot of different opinions regarding DLC these days. Some look at it as a cost-effective way of continuing to play their favorite games, while others see it as a way for developers to get lazy with their finished product. Reggie Fils-Aime, in an interview with AOL Games Blog, has made it clear they are in the latter half. See why Nintendo is against paid DLC and prefers to give gamers the complete experience.

Even though Nintendo does a lot of things that sometime make me scratch my head (online philosophy, not localizing certain games, etc.), I truly respect the way they handle certain design decisions. One in particular is their stance against paid DLC (DownLoadable Content). In a recent interview with AOL Games Blog, Nintendo of American President Reggie Fils-Aime emphasized that when Nintendo releases a game, they want to provide a “complete experience.”

I can agree with what he's saying because from the past experience, Nintendo does produce great titles when it's coming from Nintendo.

I personally also don't mind paying for DLC if it's cheap. if it's less than $7 then I think it's worth it especially if it's something like Ballad of Gay Tony or some of the extra stories in Dragon Age. If it's something small like extra costumes, a new character or new stages then it should be a lot cheaper and even sometimes free. If it's helping me to play the game long and I enjoy it, I don't mind paying a few extra dollars for DLC.

I see where he's coming from. As 'Tenks said, I really don't mind paying a few extra bucks for some DLC, and if the DLC is minor as a character, than I suppose it should be free. The instance in which I would think it would make sense to pay for it would be, in the case that the DLC would greatly further game enjoyment.
