In an interview with AOL Games Blog, Reggie Fils-Aime went over how he thinks the next generation will play out. Even though the Wii has been pretty hit or miss, Fils-Aime believes that the Wii U will certainly send everything into disarray the same way the Wii did. There are some problems with this prediction, but if Nintendo can rectify some of the problems it had with the Wii then they may be able to pull it off. This is Nintendo after all; certainly anything can happen.

Even though it may not be the most popular amongst “hardcore gamers,” it’s quite obvious that the Nintendo Wii has had a huge effect on the industry. From the low price point to the functionality that made it attractive to people of all ages and demographics, the Wii still stands as one of the most successful gaming consoles of all time. So obviously the Wii U, the successor to the Wii, has a lot to live up to. Reggie Fils-Aime, President of Nintendo of America, was involved in a recent interview with AOL Games Blog and was asked a few questions about the Big N’s next generation console. The “Regginator” appeared quite confident throughout and assured us that the Wii U will be every bit as successful as the Wii:

    Paha, I feel like the Wii U is going to, like all Nintendo products, is going to boom, but for the people who didn't have the Wii, it's gonna be like, The coolest thing since sliced bread.

    I never thought of it as a succesor but more of a para-sequel to be used with the wii... but I'm still pumped for it!
