If you've still never managed to get your hands on a version of Chrono Trigger, then you really have no excuse as of today. Coming next month, the SNES classic will finally be making its way to iOS platforms. It looks like it will be the classic version of the game but have a new interface designed exclusively for iOS. Given the amount of times this game has been re-released for modern systems, now is as good a time as any to pick up one of the greatest RPGs of all time.

Square-Enix has been no stranger to the concept of re-releasing older games on newer platforms. While there are some who view the company as a “Good Samaritan” of sorts, making older games accessible to a young audience. Others see them as a company that has been milking their earlier franchises far too often. No matter what side you’re on, the game in question is certainly one that seems almost universally liked. Chrono Trigger, considered by many to be the greatest role-playing game of all time, will make its way to iOS next month. Looks like I’ll have to add yet another game to my iPhone collection.
