Capcom expected around 420,000 units sold, in total, for Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition. However, just revealed today that in just over 2 months, it has almost doubled that number. It has sold more than 750,000 (three quarters of a million) units! Incredibly high sales for a port of a game that has been on 3 other platforms.
How do you think this could affect Resident Evil, and mature games in general, in the future?
Capcom has now confirmed that the initial projection of 420,000 copies sold worldwide for Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition has been exceeded, with sales currently over 750,000! Could this spur on further RE remakes?

To be quite honest, I'll take REmake over it anyday.
The PC version was another terrible Ubiport, and that one was a direct port of the PS2 version.
Great game, however. RE4 never really sold as well as it deserved on either the GC or PS2. It sold respectably, but it was one of the last generation's best games. Only achieving decent sales isn't very impressive. It is very different from the typical RE fare, but that's what made it so great. This is also considered the definitive version of RE4, out of the 3 Capcom developed.
Some RE fans did dislike RE4, but that's likely because they were looking at it as a Resident Evil game and expected the same, rather than a totally different (and great) game. It did share some similarities, however.
