Bold and controversial predictions are coming out of CES from chief product officer for cloud gaming service Gaikai, Nanea Reeves that “Not all of the current console makers will have one more generation. That will be the big news at E3.”

    totally see it now... BOTH Microsoft and Sony will quit this competition and all we will have is the Nintendo Wii U to play video games on...

    I kid, I kid. I don't see either Microsoft or Sony dropping out anytime soon. Really the only way I see something like this coming to fruition is if one of them launches a totally new product they hope to be a console replacement, some sort of all encompassing media device for the living room that happens to play games. That or one of them will shift their operation over to a cloud service like OnLive or Gaikai, but the market for that is so small for now that I don't really see it.

      cloud gaming is too new, OnLive is several years ahead of the curve. its not gonna catch on in force until everyone has fast, really stable internet, which i dont see happening for 4-5 years at least. the last thing anyone wants is to be playing a single player game and suddenly be logged out because their connection dropped.
