Games We Love but Wish We Could Love Playing

Sony is refusing to accept the horrible reviews their Playstation 3 game, Lair has been getting and says that it's all about the consumer. They don't care about critics putting down Lair. Instead, they look on the brighter side, accepting the fact that if gamers like it, then that's all that matters. However, will the reviews get to gamers and will Sony's tough stance be useless?
"At the end of the day, I'll be interested in the consumers' response, because the consumer awareness for this title was so huge. I've spoken to any number of people who really like it, and there's other people that find it a challenge."

Note: Not a fact! Amazing!
Reviews = Opinions, never facts!
I wouldn't piss off so many.
So how is this news? You expect a company to pull advertising for a game just because it gets bad reviews? On countless occasions I have been reading a bad review of a game on the internet all the while an advertisement for that very same game is being advertised in a banner ad. The last instance I can remember was Blue Dragon.
Reviewers will start floundering when good sales statistics start coming in
Who would you believe?
A group of biased, old critics? Or gamers who actually PLAY the game.
1. no company has bailed on a failed product, they'll market the life out of it to make sure that it gets to users, I mean if Atari did it with E.T. (and failed horribly) then it sets the stage for any company to back their developer and shove the product no matter what. Anyone thinking otherwise is simply ignoring the history of the industry.
2. A group of biased, old critics? While I've seen some old guys around, you would be wise to watch your words, the industry is cluttered with people well into their years. Some of the more conceptual minds still reside in that older bracket. As for reviewers being old. I have no idea what odd world you live in, unless 20+ is old to you. Jesus I mean really did you even think before you made that comment? Most of the active reviewers are in that range, sure the senior editors, the ones who do all the marketing and final calls on things still exist, but people who often end up playing these are lower tier paid journalists for corporations. Heck, even bloggers still range in this 20+ range.
Try to actually have something worthwhile to claim instead of assuming the guy reviewing Lair is a 48 year old man with 5 kids and 3 jobs that hates life. Some games just don't cut it despite the hype leading to release, if you like it, fine, if you don't, that's great too, either way, get over it, in the next year I'm sure there will be pleanty of other bad ratings to cry over.
Its not really news, since every company does that already.
